We all know that the COVID-19 pandemic is continuously spreading after five months of lockdown, and as a Filipino citizen, there is no shame for fearing for your life as more and more deaths are reported every day. During these situations, it is better to have insurance so you can better fight the virus.

It was known that the first case of COVID-19 in the Philippines was found last January, which is a 38-year old Chinese woman. One month later, the early death in the country was confirmed, and the end happened outside of Mainland China. Moreover, the first confirmed case of a Filipino citizen also happened this month.

On February 9, citizens from Wuhan, China, who are present in the country, were quarantined in Tarlac. The third case of the virus was also found during this time. None of the Wuhan citizens displayed any symptoms during the quarantine period and were released after being cleared for the disease.

One month later, more cases were confirmed, totaling 33 cases since January. By March 14, there are already 111 cases in the country, and after a few days, the president announced a lockdown to decrease the number of cases. The whole country went to an Enhanced Community Quarantine to prevent the virus from spreading.

There have been extensions to the quarantine in Metro Manila, but other places are placed under General Community Quarantine, a lighter version of the ECQ. There are certain areas in the Philippines under GCQ in May. However, high-risk cities such as Metro Manila, CALABARZON, Central Luzon, and other provinces are still under ECQ.

Earlier this month, President Duterte later decided to revert Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal on MECQ starting August 4 until August 18. Unfortunately, there is no sign that the curve is flattening. There has been a rapid increase in cases in the country as of late.

Today, there are over a hundred thousand cases of the virus. One way of preventing the disease is through social distancing and staying six feet away from anyone to avoid the spread of the virus. Another effective way of preventing the spread of washing the virus is through washing your hands and disinfecting if you went outside.

If you ever think that you or one of your family members have symptoms of the virus, do not hesitate to go to a doctor for immediate testing. However, the virus is hazardous that there are asymptomatic people who do not show any symptoms until the infection is widespread.

Because of the pandemic, jobs were lost, and people are not sure where they would find a reliable source of income. Schools are also hindered because of the Coronavirus, and unless there is a cure, no one knows when things are going to get back to normal. The best thing that you can do is to ensure your family?s health and well-being.

One way of ensuring the health of your family is by having health and car insurance. Having an insurance provider means that once a tragedy happens, you will receive financial compensation. If you haven?t availed an insurance package yet, make sure to get one once the pandemic is over, and things go back to normal.?

However, the best way to prevent the virus from spreading is to keep your health in excellent condition. If you want to know ways to boost your immune system and keep your family safe during this pandemic, you can read this infographic from iChoose.ph
