The Different Types of HVAC Systems for Your Home

Climate change and an increase in heat levels across the world have made HVAC systems an absolute necessity. HVAC contractors have the professional knowledge and experience to recommend the right kind of equipment for your house depending on its size and layout. There are four basic types of HVAC systems available in the market in different sizes and varying capacities which you can choose depending on your budget and requirements.

Split HVAC System

This system gets its name because the equipment is split into two sections. The outdoor unit has the condenser coil, electrical components, fan and compressor, and the indoor unit has the blower and evaporator coil. This type of system is generally used for residential or commercial buildings that need both heating and central air-conditioning. The cool air moves into the house after switching on the AC is from the refrigerant that circulates air between indoor and outdoor units through a series of pipes. Other parts of the split HVAC comprises of ducts that carry the air throughout the building and the thermostat which controls the system to maintain the desired level of temperature within the house. There are optional accessories manufacturers offer with the system like air purifiers, humidifiers, and air scrubbers.

Ductless Split System

This is the preferred HVAC system for buildings that cannot accommodate an expansive central air-conditioning system with ducts for airflow. It is ideal for fast cooling and heating wide spaces and can complement existing duct type network in the building. Three to four indoor units can be attached to a single outdoor unit.

Hybrid System

This system is very similar to a conventional split HVAC system but is more energy-efficient and the air conditioning installation does not require as many changes to the building. The heat pump in this system is used along with a furnace and can be efficiently applied to both heat and cool the house even when the temperatures dip very low during winter. The hybrid split system comprises of a heat pump, a furnace, evaporator coil, ductwork, and thermostat for adjustment and control of the system.

Packaged HVAC System

This HVAC system was designed for small spaces which cannot accommodate all parts of the split system. These can be installed anywhere within a home or office service and are good for regions that have extreme climatic conditions during summer and winter. Since the cost is relatively low when compared to other systems, HVAC contractors suggest these for small areas that need to be cooled quickly.

The main goal of any HVAC system is to provide comfort to the area where it is installed, and air conditioning repair services like airconditioningsoutheast.com can make sure the installation stays energy efficient throughout the years of use.
